How the Txt2Team.com System Works

The Txt2Team.com website is designed to be used by sports clubs or organisations, to send sms text messages to the members. In the case of underage members the messages should be sent to the members parents.

It works on all of the mobile phone networks in Ireland - Vodafone, O2, Three, Tesco and Meteor and there is no charge to the recipients mobile as is the case with some other services.

The users of the system login to the website using a mobile number and a password assigned to them. All text messages sent by a user appear on the recipient’s phone as coming from the mobile number used to logon to the system. This means that people can reply to the messages they receive and the replies go directly to the mobile number used to login to the website. These replies do not go through our website and are just normal text messages being sent from one mobile phone to another and charged accordingly by O2,Vodafone or whoever the account is with.

We also offer the option for the messages to come from a word up to 11 letters in length which would be unique to your club. If a club chooses to use this option then recipients can not reply to the text messages they receive as they will not be coming from a mobile number

Each contact in a user’s contacts can have two mobile numbers. Each of these mobile numbers can be enabled to receive texts or not. This is useful when you are sending messages to maybe a club members parents.

A copy of the message also goes to the mobile number used for logging into the system and also to all leaders assigned to the team or group receiving the message.

Your contacts can be in more than one of your teams or groups but the message will only be sent once to each number.

A message can also be sent to one contact mobile or a number not saved in your database instead of to a group or team. When a message is sent to just one contact a copy of the message is not sent to the mobile of the user sending the message.

The only cost to use the website is for the text messages sent. Each text message costs 2.5 cent for a standard 155 characters. This cost is inclusive of vat at 21%. So, if a user sends a message to a group containing 30 contacts with one mobile each the cost will be 30 x 2.5 (the parents) + 2.5 cent (confirmation message sent to user) = €0.775. That’s less than €1 to get a message to 30 people.

This is a prepay or postpay service depending on the account. If prepay then the club must have sufficient credits in their account to send a particular message. Remaining credits are displayed on the left hand side of the screen. To purchase additional credits click the Buy Credits button. You can pay securely online by credit card through PayPal or offline by sending a cheque. Once your payment is confirmed the credits will be added to your account.

If postpay then the club will be invoiced by email on a monthly basis and payment can be by PayPal or cheque.
